I still think Montana makes a good choice for Far Cry for its varied landscapes. I think its mountains and lakes are probably a better fit for the gameplay than flat Oklahoma and Texas. It may be a bit of a narrative stretch, but there are cults and Militia activity and history all over the place, from Oregon and California down to Guyana. Frankly it can happen absolutely anywhere.
