That still doesn't address the fact that Overwatch requires an Internet connection AT ALL TIMES. Even the single player mode of Overwatch requires an always on Internet connection. Splatoon 2 and Dragon Quest X do not. DQX even requires you play it offline to start the game. |
So...just have the game only playable when their is an online connection.
The Switch is a home console too. It is possible to just play a game when you have a strong, reliable connection. We already have games that can't be played in either console, portable, and even table top modes. Overwatch will just need to be a game that's really only meant to be played at home. Heck, maybe even only in console mode, so the game can have the extra horsepower at all times.
I get it if the gam wouldn't run well on Switch hardware, but the system is fully capable of running an online-only game. Though, honestly, if they CAN get the game running in handheld mode, there's no reason they couldn't add an offline LAN option.
