What op fails to realize is that inflation is also lowering your salary.
For me it depends what a game it is, even some nieche game like SF2HD could be worth the expensive 40€ price tag if you assume that it could be a game on low print run, which can hold or exceeds its original value. Thats different with million sellers of your average AAA game on the other hand.
With digital games i view it as a waste of money to spend 60 bucks on air, in my eyes. I am only thinking about getting Tekken 7 digital as it was a game that i played the most last gen, and it would be annoying to swap the disc to play some rounds online, but thats like one exception.
I am only getting digital versions of older games if i already own it in physical form if there is no new physical version available.
