ISIS never had a chance to conquer anything beyond what they achieved, as they filled a local power vacuum mostly established by freedom-bombs and a fatal 7 year drought - other local powers had an interest to keep ISIS active, that's why they survived for years
btw funny that you now classify the people living there as innocent, while simultanously calling for extreme discrimination against their religion
