Like I didn't know about the circle errors if you knocked the console. On one hand that is interesting, on another - why were people knocking their console around?

When the console is running - don't touch it.

That was just an easy way to demonstrate the problem (dvd not secured). It could also happen with normal use, although compared to rrod it was a much smaller issue. The early dvd drives were also very loud. Later being able to install the whole game dvd to hdd was a welcome addition and also fixed any possible scratching issues.

Another issue imo was the batteries in the controller. I bought a charge and play kit which only worked for a few years, then it wouldn't charge anymore. Garbage. Luckily I had kept the battery holder inserts so I switch to regular rechargeable batteries. At least the controllers were very sturdy. I bought at least 6 DS3s last gen and have only 2 barely working ones left.
