After having ridden child bikes with sidewheels, that actually are very counterproductive to learn, it took me until I was 11-13, in the middle school, to really learn to ride a bike, and for years I used to ride a lot on dirt roads when I was on vacation in the countryside, the only things that stopped me a little were the absurd heat of Umbria in July and early August and that I was quite weak (later, when I was 16-17, after 11 years of swimming and corrective gymnastics for the scoliosis, I ended up becoming stronger and, alas, with a wolfish appetite, the curse of ex-swimmers
