It keeps the game going, especially for its community. You've seen Splatoon right? It didn't just get its incredible legs because it was a Nintendo game. When the updates kept going, the game continued to evolve along with its community.

Splatoon is popular because its a good game. Not my kinda game, but I see what makes it good. Sure it helps when a game is supported, but Arms is no Splatoon. A month after release it will be forgotten.

Nintendo is trying to go the Splatoon route with Arms, but they are about to learn that a game needs to be fun for more than 20 minutes for it to become popular.

But it seems that this game will also be pretty good, reactions of people and media who tried game back in january, and now latest previews and reception of the latest direct are saying that game is very fun with lotsa potential. For instant Gamexplain said they were having more fun with game ever compared to Splatoon, also previews are saying that same like Splatoon, that people need to try game and to see how much fun game is actual, and that Test Demo is right decision. And no, game will not be forgotten one month after release because Nintendo will update it with new content same like they done with Splatoon.

Nintendo is going same route like they did with Splatoon because they have similar product, very interesting and fun game that take different approach on existing gener, thats why they will have Free Test Demos and free updates same like Splatoon.

I get its not your kind of game, but here you acting very close minded.
