Our country basically has all of the problems of the USA, just on a 1/5 scale in line with our population. "New Labour" basically has all of the problems of the Conservatives (big business bias, corruption, spin, rich background bias, 1984-like surveillance, underfunded public health and education, wars) with all of the problems of Labour too (Massive overspend on benefits, people feeling they don't have to work, national debt, taxes at record levels for the middle class, frequent strikes, underfunded military and lack of economic focus).
