I wasn't making the argument that metal discussion was nerdier than gaming (though you definitely have some major nerds in the metal and prog rock community).  Not that video games are considered very nerdy these days. It's actually quite mainstream.  But it was more piggy backing off your post to bring up that, yes, I have been posting on message boards for almost half my life, and longer than some folks here have been alive.
