And 6 years later it still looks great! I don't think developers need to blow their budget on graphics just to prove their game is well made, especially when a game can have great graphics and still suck, but I suppose it's fair to have expected significant improvement. I'm guessing the Switch version has something to do with that.
Psh that criticism can be and is said about every Sonic game ever! To this I always say that just means the gameplay probably isn't for you, doesn't necessarily mean it's bad for what it is, but you sound like you liked Generations so yeah definitely check back on this game after they start revealing stages. I'm confident they will impress like the ones in Generations did.
