Yes, for sure. I think it's required playing for hack 'n slash fans. The combat mechanics are amazingly versatile and nuanced, and open to many different interpretations and variations. The base game isn't the longest but the replay value is super high -- as long as you're willing to replay stages for high scores.
Bayonetta herself is one of the best video game characters of the last 15 years, and the game's animations and art direction are spectacular. The story can be confusing and melodramatic but it has a strong sense of humor and style.
