I think very it's important and that goes without any question. This generation Japanese developers have made a huge comeback and are bringing back their glory days. Western developers seem to be getting trapped in a "bigger is better" trap and aren't handling open world as well in general with the exception of a few. Many western devs are dipping in quality and I hope to see a turn around in that aspect. I'm not too concerned at the moment either.
That being said I think that this E3 will be more or less dominated by Eastern developers with some big Western developer hits. I think both Nintendo and Sony will be showing lots of surprises. I really hope that the rumors are true and Sony and Nintendo are brining their A game this year and both of them are bringing iconic heroines as their best spotlight of their E3 presentations. Honestly, though I really don't want to hold my breath on that because I'll be vastly let down if I don't get both!
