The "american" right is very different from a "european" right. It's much more libertarian. The nazi party was big into gun control, publicly run education, publicly run health care, access to abortion, pretty much all american left check boxes, and yes, very socialist.
People on the US seem to forget that the Democratic party always stood for racism, segretation, etc. MLK was solidly a republican himself. Something about people taking responsibility for themselves and their families.
Hollywood and the media are solid left, as in 90+% tracked by public political donation records.
That all being said, I can see how increasing cast salaries could cause a show to be cancelled. Revenue (or viewership) != profitability.
