During this briefing MS said Xbox is a multi-billion dollar business, very profitable, and becoming more and more profitable. Is this the first time they've ever actually said the brand is profitable? I can't remember any other time. Either way, seems very bright indeed. I know it won't, but plans like this really should shut up the people claiming Microsoft is just about ready to sell the division off of something.
As for the part about biggest network people are getting hung up on, it doesn't say it on this DualShockers link but other articles you read about it make it out like he meant in terms of revenue, which he further clarified by pointing out XBL makes far more money than the other networks. Nice to see Live is paying off for them, it was a gargantuan investment and revolutionized online gaming on consoles. Sony and Nintendo have been trying to catch up ever since and have now both even adopted the pay to play strategy after seeing how it prints money for Xbox.
