But is WoW in a place that other MMOs would want to be in? Granted, they have the most active subs of any MMO, but they are facing many hurdles as a result of their aging game engine.

I know the MMO scene has been on decline for awhile now, but man, I would love to see it make a comeback. I wish Blizzard never abandoned their WoW successor (can't recall it's name, was it Titan?).

Other MMO's have tried to copy and be WoW for years, it got them in a bind and for otehrs in a state where they had to close up shop or go entirely F2P, I wouldn't call that desirable.

Every MMO will reach a state where they lose subs, you don't just gains more and more and never take any losses till the end of time itself.

MMO scene is going to stay in it's current state, the more devs try to be like WoW and those that copy and tack on features that other MMO's already use. There needs to be completely new experiences, entirely new never before done mechanics in order to set themselves apart. Trying to be exactly like WoW isn't a good idea. Having FFXIV become WoW isn't what I'd want.

Mankind, in its arrogance and self-delusion, must believe they are the mirrors to God in both their image and their power. If something shatters that mirror, then it must be totally destroyed.
