The intriguing battle between 3DS and Switch starts in mid August, when  3DS' exceptionally high price fell to the proper level for a handheld console!

Hence, it will be an affordable handheld console, vs a home and handheld console ( even though Nintendo calls it just home console ) for 30000 yen, which is a great deal for gamers who are interested in both gaming ways and  would have to  spend 50000+ yen for a 3ds and wii u last gen, also for the home console players that will have now the ability to keep playing what they were playing on tv lying on the sofa everywhere inside/outside house and anyhow ,  with a console that its initial price is quite lower than may other home consoles in the recent or not past and  not to forget the tablet-top gaming way.

The disadvantage of switch over 3ds then will be the expenses: Switch is pricey as a handheld console only and its software has home console games prices         ( albeit it offers premium experience but still  its price is fairly high for someone  who plays exclusively on handheld consoles  ) ! In addition, to a less extend, no handheld console ip yet, and not being so so portable, and not much durable in abusing by kids,  ( if they break it down parents will have to expend again 30.000 yen, will they ? )

In the current sales comparison, it's an expensive handheld console vs an affordable hybrid console or vs an affordable home console that you can play everywhere, sitting, moving or whatever. Even as a handheld console only, switch doesn't have a drawback, a not much big difference of 5000 yen for the specific time frame, with switch hardware and software technologically  being a lot superior compared to 3DS and 3DS being barren of major game releases in its first couple of months unlike switch ( TLOZ BOTW/MK8D ) .
