With the rare exception, multiplats have really never been a factor in Nintendo's successs. the fact is that Nintendo has been successful many times without those games and has never been successful with them.

No sane person would ever call GB & GBA anything but massive successes. Its only compared to DS/PSP that this generation fell massively short.

Not true, the original Nintendo and Super Nintendo had amazing 3rd party support. A lot better than n64, GameCube, wii and Wii U.

3rd party support =/= AAA western multiplats. The type of games that are the primary system movers on PS/XB have either never been on Nintendo or never been a big deal for Nintendo.

All of Nintendo's successful platforms had good-great 3rd party support but the big sellers primarily consisted of exclusive titles, not multiplat titles.
