To re answer the question, for me personally.

Rent $600/month (expensive, close to downtown) Could go much lower

Food $50-$100

Electricity $15

Internet $50

And I don't pay for smartphone, but if I did I guess we tack on extra $50.

Total: ~$800/month

$600 for rent? Damn...Anything less than $1,000 here is basically a closet.
