I'm not bothered, partly because I don't care about CoD.
If it's only the multiplayer then why not let people play the gender they want to play? And arguably there is historic reason to have female fighting characters in the SP campaign, depending on the narrative.
Also, if people think women didn't fight and kill in WWII then I suggest they read up some more of their WWII history.
