Bluehole Studio today announced that its battle royale first-person shooter, PLAYERUNKNOWN’S BATTLEGROUNDS, has sold two million copies worldwide. PLAYERUNKNOWN’S BATTLEGROUNDS was released in late March and it took Bluehole Studio almost a month in order to hit this milestone.
PLAYERUNKNOWN’S BATTLEGROUNDS is described as a last-man-standing shooter being developed with community feedback. Starting with nothing, players must fight to locate weapons and supplies in a battle to be the lone survivor.
The game is currently available in Early Access. The team expects to fully release the game in approximately six months, and is going to focus on implementing the modding tools and readying a fully polished battle royale experience.
“We have weapons and attachments, animations and gunplay in the game, and will concentrate on tuning each.”
The final version of the game will incorporate modding tools that will allow players to customize and play the game the way they want. Furthermore, it will feature more content and new features that will be based on feedback from the community during Early Access.

Though it's not my cup of tea, I will give it another looking into upon release, provided my friends are wanting to do the same. 2 million copies being sold in just a month is pretty insane for an indie dev like that, especially for a Battle royale style shooter. It's already picking up more players than there was on EA's BF1 and SWBF. EA should take notes at some point, because the devs behind PUB are doing something right.
Mankind, in its arrogance and self-delusion, must believe they are the mirrors to God in both their image and their power. If something shatters that mirror, then it must be totally destroyed.
