Basically a buzz word. The only difference I see is that it can scan the room and try to put a visual cue for the walls/objects around you, so you're not bumping into things. But yea, this is not true mixed reality like Hololens. Personally, I don't see many people spending $400+ just to walk around there living room to use the PC. I'm guessing it might me used as a cheaper VR headset if they allow it to be used that way, but that's about it.
