The effects of nostalgia on your gaming preferences?

I used to buy everything Nintendo did and made because I grew up with it until the Wii but still when I play their games co-op with friends, like mario kart of mario party, huge nostalgia shows up.

Same goes for co-op in games like Halo of Gears of War with my best friend.

Apart from that I used to have big nostalgia for some series, like final fantasy and stuff but that has been pretty destroyed by the latest few installments.

I do still play old consoles and when I grab the PS2 or Dreamcast from the basement huge huge nostalgia pops up when games like Powerstone, Shenmue, Sklies of Arcadia, Grandia or on PS2, Kessen, Metal Gear or Zone of the Enders gets played, thats just an awesome feeling.
