The effects of nostalgia on your gaming preferences?

I'll drop nostalgia in a heartbeat, to be honest.

Final Fantasy was once my favorite gaming franchise but I couldn't be less interested in FF15. I used to all about JRPGs but I really don't care for most of what is produced now. I once looked down on FPS games but now some of them are among my favorite current series.

I really don't have a problem leaving games behind if they're no longer what I'm looking for.

There are also very, very few old games (PS2 and earlier) that I have any interest in playing again. Most of the time that I've gone back, I've been frustrated with the lack of some of the newer features and improvements.
