Nintendo seems to be working from a good angle, and 217 seems to be the year where they scrape away all the unneeded gimmicks and experiments and get back to making quality games. The Switch launched only 2 months ago and since then (it has been sold everywhere) it has shattered sales records and delivered some great titles to get the console moving. Nintendo also just announced the N2DS, the latest 3DS console, and seemingly the best one theyve ever made. they ditched the 3D option, made it super-slim, and made it very affordable. they are now leaning on TWO great consoles for the year, both with promising lineups, and even more unannounced exclusives at E3.

Microsoft seems to be in a position where they are trying to restructure everything, but they dont know what to do with themselves. First they seemed like they were going to shift to PC gaming, then they dropped all ties with PC gaming, then the Scorpio was announced. the Scorpio seems promising with its cutting edge console hardware, but we have yet to hear anything more about it. meanwhile the Xbox One S was a great revision on the XB1, but thats about it. it doesnt really seem like they have any big plans.

Sony seems to be in a rut. remember the PS4 Pro? because i dont. it feels like an unneeded gimmick for new PS4 owners, but when the console doesnt offer any major upgrades from the original model, then i just dont see why it needed to exist. then there are the rumors that a PS5 is in the works and going to be out this year. i dont believe it, and if they do i can only imagine that PS4 owners wouldnt be ready to upgrade since Sony is still just trying to wrap themselves around the PS4 Pro. it just feels like they are in a sloppy situation despite the PS4's success.
