haha I think it was quite obvious from the get-go that he was more interested than the title than the actual job. Sort of like his 'policies' and running points during the election- he didn't really have any. Just vague things like "I'LL MAKE THINGS BETTER" "BUILD A WALL" "STOP BUSINESSES FROM GETTING TAXED A LOT" etc. etc. etc.

his attitude to it now is just like while running for office- a question of wanting or not wanting the title but limited experience or expression about clear cut policy. 

I tried telling some people this pre election who were Trump fans and they sort of denied it although the hilarious part was when I asked them about what Trump's 'plans' as President were they didn't really have answers. And this is coming from someone who didn't like Hilary either I will add
