Seems about right as there seems to be a good amount of criminal energy behind it and not just curiosity.
Too bad there's not gonna be a solution to malicious DDOS attacks anytime soon. They're kinda really mean to network admins.
If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.
