Honestly, unless they were a fascist/ethnonationalist/dominionist/absolutist monarchist* or an authoritarian-leftist/technocrat/tankie *, which tells me they likely have a very violent personality, I could probably find some common ground with them politically. I am an individualist anarchist. If I only dated people who were also individualist anarchists I definitely would die alone (I probably will die alone anyway; nothing wrong with that.)
Most people are apolitical, or marginally political. For those who are enthusiastic about politics, I think I can reason with them fine and find where we agree and disagree.
Otherwise, we'd just have to agree not to talk politics.
*I guess both of these categories are my political opposites.
