One thing that I don't get is why people keep asking for 1080p/60fps or 4k/60 fps? FPS is not a standard and that's that. I would much rather have a gorgeous adventure title at 1080p/30fps than a mediocre looking one at 4k/1080p.

Not every game has to be rock solid 60fps. The time when photo-realism at 60fps is a standard is still a couple of generations away. Hell, maybe at that point generations wont even be relevant anymore. While I love a solid 60fps in a side-scrolling Mario title, I don't mind that Horizon is locked at 30. It doesn't hurt the gameplay in any way, shape or form.

Did you just say 4k/1080 or do you mean 4k or 1080p? Anyway, the point is that we should be pushing tech incrementally. We cant even get to 1080p 60fps and were already ready to push 4k before more houses are ready for it just to say it was done. Sony realized it wasnt in their best interest to push 4k so soon, so they went with cherboarding as an alternative. It doesnt push things too far and gives an alternative where its necessary.

Every game could run 1080p 60FPS if devs so choose. The fact is 60 FPS will never be the standard. Many devs, and gamers, want to push the graphical limits of a console. To do so, running at a solid 30FPS is going to allow the devs to push it even more. And while it's completely based on individual preference, I enjoy 30FPS for more realistic games with a slight blur on the camera, regardless of genre.

You say that as if MS doesn't do the exact same thing.

Crackdown 3, Sea of Thieves, ScaleboundFable LegendsPhantom Dust Reboot.

They have had good e3's, but equally they've shown games that are years out or worse never even release at all.

My point wasnt about if there better than Sony at E3. My point is they always show games and lot of them. This years E3 i cant see being any different.

The problem is that lately its mostly multiplats or games they eventually cancel.  Unless someone is a diehard Xbox fan, they aren't really showing much. And the sales show it.
