What do you mean by would it matter?
I think we'll see Switch versions of nearly every annual release this holiday. We already have confirmed FIFA and I'm betting after this stellar launch we'll see Madden and other sports titles plus COD.
Will a Switch version of these titles cause other consoles to lose sales / userbase?
Maybe... I can see some people not caring about graphical comparisons but wanting the simple local lan play, cheaper online costs (assuming nintendo's will be cheaper than MSony) and portability for these types of games.
Will the lack of a Swith version impact overall potential sales for the Switch console?
Yes. These are staple games for the mass consumer / casual of the gamer world. People ignorantly consider these core games, but they are not. They are the mass consumer in the same manner as Mario Kart, Super Mario Bros, Wii Fit, Just Dance, etc is. These games add immediate value to a large mass consumer who literally only ever plays these games and buys them pretty much every year. That consumer may consider a Switch for the uniqueness it offers, but definitely not without these types of games.
Will a Switch version increase the overall sales of these games?
Maybe... there very likely is a group of Nintendo users who don't own MSony consoles but would consider buying these types of games and have done so on Wii / Wii U consoles (I have, but I also own MSony consoles). Though I would consider this a small user base unless you include those users who have only ever owned Nintendo handhelds. Maybe Switch is the first time they bought something that also plays the console game IPs. That could be a bigger impact and that is why I say maybe.
