We restrict screen time to ensure healthy activity overall. We have several consoles, they own 3DSs, tablets, laptops and a pc for steam gaming.

I play with them on games that I also like (i don't play FPS anymore and they still do). Wife loathes games and wishes they did any other form of entertainment. Mostly because some would literally do nothing else if unchecked.

My wife hated (well, hated is too strong of a word, disliked) most games, apart from stuff like Solitaire and Bejeweled, but I had lot of success playing board-games with my whole family...and I don't mean Monopoly, Clue and those old games, but games like Ticket to Ride, Carcassonne, Settlers of Catan, Jamaica, King of Tokyo, Small World, Zooloretto and other modern games that fit into family friendly category.

Yep, we play loads of board games too. Love ticket to ride and settlers of catan actually.
