Most, if not all, religions by nature are meant to be self-fulfilling and even helpful towards other people. The one Golden Rule that ALL religions are supposed follow is Respect. Remember the Six Pillars of Character that we learned in middle school (I assume)? I don't know about you guys, but the one Pillar that they hammered home the most for me was Respect. Respect and tolerance towards other people and their beliefs and to not inflict any harm whatsoever based on those differences. And don't take your own beliefs too far. As long as an individual doesn't cross the line/go too far and try to actually bring harm, physically, mentally, and emotionally towards other people, than their beliefs should be respected and tolerated. |
Wow that's a great argument. On that note I feel like atheists themselves shouldn't be walking around all superior saying stuff like "there is no proof, you are following idiocy and we have brains and people with religious beliefs have negative IQ so we are superior" That sort of doesn't work. Its okay if someone preaches their belief or lack thereof on a humble manner saying I believe this is right and here's why, now its up to you to decide.
Religion has one big problem that sadly cannot be solved. Everyone believes it differently. So here I am a Muslim who says and its written out for us in the Quran to respect and tolerate each other and their belief system and the right of every human being to live freely whether man or woman but then there is Saudi Arabia and how oppressive that society is. There are many Muslims who say they are Muslims but don't pray, fast, give zakat or go to hajj even with financial means basically disregarding four out of the five pillars then and therw. But still I believe that I cannot say whether they are Muslim or hypocrites but there might be some people ready to burn them alive for the tiniest of reasons and they are all technically Muslims. The same must be true for all other religions and is probably true. There are also radical and crazy atheists out there who think like an extremist. Moderate interpretations of religions should be tolerated and those that don't harm others but salafism and wahabism and what they breed should not. Cults like Scientology shouldn't be tolerated as well
Just a guy who doesn't want to be bored. Also
