| irstupid said: How often do you experience someone trying to convert you? I'm guessing are referencing seeing something on the media of people trying to push their homosexual beliefs on others. In my life I have more people try to say how evil I am for eating meat or some other essentially religion of theirs, thing than anyone talking about an actual religion period. There was some study done that found that people "need" some sort of religion to feel satisfied/fullfilled/ect. Now when I say religion, I don't mean as in the classical religion of Christianity, Islam, Jeduism, ect, but taking something and making it their religion. That could be anything from pushing your paleo/vegan/ect diet onto someone, to pushing that said video game consoel is the best console in the world. Sports are to many their religion. It isn't just religion that people try to force their beliefs onto others. I mean how hard do you see others on this site try and convince others that said console is the best console. They can't just enjoy their console in peace, they need to make sure that others also like their same console and/or games. God forbid you trash it, or give it a bad review. |
It's true that people will always want to belong to a certain "team" and tell the other "teams" that their "team" is the best one, but that's not what we are talking about.
You are saying that it's not on the believers to prove the existence of god, forgetting that their religions aren't just something they practice in their homes, but in reality, those religions' circles of influence are much larger than that, and in many cases, they dictate how non-believers should live their lives in most parts of the world, including the US. For example, homosexuals weren't allowed to get married in the US until recently just because Christianity doesn't approve.
It's non-believers' right to DEMAND proof of Allah, Jesus or whatever god you believe in, if you are gonna deny them human rights based on those gods' teachings. Another example is in the OP, Khan (the student in the video) was killed brutally while everyone was watching because Allah teaches Muslims to kill the apostates.
I have the right to demand proof of Allah & Jesus's existence if we are gonna murder the apostates and fight for laws to deny homosexuals the right to get married, that's in no way comprable to fanboys telling me how the Switch sucks.
