The problem with many wars these days is that it creates ripple effects and drags people in that have chosen to not go to war. The only certainty from these wars is that some rich old men will become very wealthy.
1) If NK loses its shit, it might go ahead and strike nearby countries. The US might not be affected, but China, japan, SK etc might end up with random missiles bombs being launched at them.
2) It will create more terrorists since there will be hundreds maybe thousands of innocents killed in the name of collateral damage.
3) justice: if nuclear threats the reason, Israel and India should have been bombed a long time ago.we cannot create one for us and another for them. There is no justification in it especially when the value of human life comes into it.
4) your country will pay the price of debt, recession, cuts etc. People not wanting this in your country will get dragged into it by the way of poverty. The poor end up paying for the war the most.
5) like Afghanistan, Syria, Libya, NK will probably churn up more rogue terrorist groups that will be left there.
Last but not least, if nuclear power and killing innocents is a reason to invade, the world should have invaded America a long time ago.
Illegal Iraq war, treatment of POW, holding prisoners without trail, kidnapping and torturing women like Afia Siddiq and violating any and every human right, bombing schools, funerals and weddings by mistake across several countries etc.
There is no good that can come from wars these days. The battlefield has changed and the old idiots who take their countries to war don't bother to think about consequences since with their wealth, they can go anywhere and keep their families safe. Me, you and the other average people do not have that luxury. |
Our chain of command get changed out (or at least is able to) by vote. When we get crazy bastards in office, we can remove them. You can't remove Kim Jong. He doesn't have to go through 2 branches of government before decisions are final. As bad as the US is (and trust me, there's plenty of dirt to go around), no one here has absolute power.
And you're right, no one's a winner in war, but there is a greater of two evils. North Korea being able to use nuclear weapons across the world is an evil far greater than war.
