Just wow, Turkey has been in European politics for centuries.

His comment has a xenophobic undertone "stop infesting Europe", and I gave him the reply he deserves.

Please do refrain, nonetheless, from using those terms to describe the situation - it's okay to call out someone for xenophobia, but talks of colonization, invasion, etc... just adds to the negative sentiment, and makes more than the person you replied to uncomfrotable.

 

You will find that far more europeans sympathize with the turks than feeling any schadenfreude.

Refrain from what? I've been on this site for 6 years, I've made it very clear I'm from Western Europe, he knows very well where I am. His comment is nothing but racist and xenophobic, something you can expect from German and Dutch people, there is a lot of subtle racism here. Nuances we Turks pick up, we're not dumb.
