Not if I have anything to say about it. I would rather see Turkey go to shit (something which they guaranteed today) than ever having political influence in Europe. Hell I prefer Putin over Erdogan and I am Dutch and he shot MH17 down.

It just shows how biased you are that you rather support a man who murdered Dutch citizens. Why? Because Erdogan is a non-European, a Muslim? I can't imagine your reaction if Erdogan shot down that plane. It's mentality like yours and the way your country behaved last month that both sides in Turkey agree with each other.

"I would rather see Turkey go to shit (something which they guaranteed today) than ever having political influence in Europe"

Just wow, Turkey has been in European politics for centuries.

I do not like to get involved in political discussions all that much. However, is that not like a really bad thing to say. You are basically burning bridges with every German person here. Not to mention it is nationalistic sentiments, like yours, of various countries subordinating one another that typically leads to wars and instability (just look at pre-WWI, WWI, and WWII wars to get a sense of the damage these sentiments bring).

P.S. I am sorry for what happened in Trukey. I was born in Iran (though as you can probably tell from my profile, I am a Canadian Citizen now), and I know what a bad political event can do to a country (in Iran it was the events of 38 years ago that turned that nation on its head, not that I saw the transformation that country went through with my own eyes as I was not born yet but I heard and read about how bad the aftermath was). Sadly, it seems like the citizens of many nations are making bad decisions that hurt their future prospects not to mention their democracies. Hopefully, after people eventually become tired of Erdogen (it tends to happen with most authoratarian-style leaders, where eventually their supporters realize they were lied to by a power-hungry person) or his successor they will work to bring back the parliamentary system.

His comment has a xenophobic undertone "stop infesting Europe", and I gave him the reply he deserves.

Please do refrain, nonetheless, from using those terms to describe the situation - it's okay to call out someone for xenophobia, but talks of colonization, invasion, etc... just adds to the negative sentiment, and makes more than the person you replied to uncomfrotable.

You will find that far more europeans sympathize with the turks than feeling any schadenfreude.
