It just shows how biased you are that you rather support a man who murdered Dutch citizens. Why? Because Erdogan is a non-European, a Muslim? I can't imagine your reaction if Erdogan shot down that plane. It's mentality like yours and the way your country behaved last month that both sides in Turkey agree with each other. "I would rather see Turkey go to shit (something which they guaranteed today) than ever having political influence in Europe" Just wow, Turkey has been in European politics for centuries.
His comment has a xenophobic undertone "stop infesting Europe", and I gave him the reply he deserves. |
I do agree his comment did seem somewhat xenophobic and personal (I do not know this person well to understand if he came off this way on purpose). Moreover, being born in a country that many in the West do not like, I understand how fraustrating it can be when people attach labels to you simply because of your origin (often times based on generalizations and misconceptions; and certinaly no reflective of your individuality). However, I think it is always best to extend an olive branch to other and start a dialogue, because it is much more effective to get people to see how you really are when you do not have defensive tone (regardless of the relief one feels by verbally unloading on a person that has insulted them). The statement that you made before just gave this individual material to point at you and say you fit the stereotype they have concuted of you and others of your origin, which is counter productive.
