If TLOU2, RDR2, and SMO all get 90+ scores, they'll all get similar comments.

Which is awesome, in my opinion.  It would suck if we all liked the same thing.  Speaking as someone who likes a bunch of flawed games and dislikes a lot of the mega-franchises, I never want to see quirky content fade away in favor of trying to nail down perfect formulas.

It definitely is, yeah. People should embrace critism directed at the things they like, not dismiss it. The day a game immune to critism releases is the day variety dies.
