That's probably because the man is in the more respectable position in such a situation, and it's far more common that a man has the upper hand. Other women don't look kindly on gold diggers either.

If you turn the tables (rich woman with a man who is in the relationship for the money), it's the man who receives less respect (also among other men). But like I said, this combination is far less common.

That's the problem though, people are valued by their wealth instead of their personal qualities.
