If your into outdoor activities and cold weather, it would be great. Anchorage is a tourist hub so pretty much any outdoor activity you can think of is available there. It's also one the most beautiful places I've ever been too. Though if you're home body or a workaholic I could imagine it would be a pretty depressing place to live.
Now I've lived in Arizona for so long, I love warm weather. It's mood lifting. Don't think I could ever live somewhere cold again.
