In my last few years of university, I worked for Home Depot. It was a lot of fun. Learned a ton about home improvement and the people I worked with were awesome. Sure retail hours sucked and there is always that occasional customer who is an unnecessary jerk, but overall it was a good time.
Retail can also be forgiving in your schedule if you plan ahead and talk to your manager. I know I was always able to adjust my schedule as needed for classes / study times etc. Yes, I did work full-time (40hrs) as well as school full-time. So I was also very, very busy. It sucked, but post-graduation its all paid off.
