A) I have yet to see a 30 or 45 minute cutscene. I'm not sure I've seen a 10 minute one even. Even with the beginning where it is mostly talking - you have many opportunities to save.

B) You are the phantom THIEVES. Sneak around. Ambush them. If you are getting ambushed - you are doing it wrong. Heck if they are even getting a turn before everyone - you are doing it wrong.

C) There are PLENTY of save spots. Quite a lot actually. Even if haven't found one "ahead" you can always go back to one.

I've yet to run into an "overpowered guy" so far. Even when I was level 8ish and ran into a 16 - it was a very easy fight. Smack them around with their weakness, then Have them join, or all out attack them. Afraid of the MC dying? Have them guard.

Although I do question your levels if someone is dying in two hits.

So either the game changes DRAMTICALLY after the first dungeon to extent of 45 minute cutscenes, overpowered guys, and no save points - or you're doing it wrong.

edit: Also two after thoughts. 1) If you die to a "boss fight" you can go back to that boss fight immediatly. 2) When you die it takes you back to the last save room. Now I've never NOT saved in a save room - but it can take you back to that WITHOUT saving - that would count as an autosave.

I agree with your comments, the only thing I can add is it seems like he doesn't prepare well . if you make sure you equip your group with the best ailment and physical def , you can afford  plus the game has a way of telegraphing the type of ailments coming up.
