It's a pretty big dilemna. If you want to avoid killing innocents, then you need to entirely remove yourself from the armed conflict. There's no other alternative, but that will lead to ISIS being able to do whatever the hell they want which will be really bad. Ideally, the US should do do whatever it can to avoid armed conflict, but alas Obama decided to get involved in Syria and here we are with Trump recently ordering missile attacks.
