I find it funny that the beginning of the generation was littered with digital foundry comparisons of 3rd party titles between the bone and the ps4, and resolution this, resolution that, and no props for Microsoft having the majority of exclusives at that time.

It was all good for everyone to be power hungry when ps4 was the most powerful console.........

Now...........none of that stuff matters........4k? no thanks.....1080 is fine with me.

The differnce is everyone now has 1080p TVs... not many have 4k TVs or plan to upgrade soon to it.

So there was a clear differnce in quality for basically everyone.

Then theres the fact that as you go up in resolution the improvements in terms of increased image quality run into deminishing returns.

Basically differnce below 1080p are bigger, than ones above it (meaning 1800p or 2160p, doesnt matter as much).

Differnt situations, so you can just go "now none of that matters", it still does, but to a lesser degree.

Also because MS puts most of its exclusives on windows,... people that want to play those games at 4k, have been able to do so on PC for along time already.

I like the design of the Xbox Scorpio, but Im not at all tempted to get one (I wasnt with the PS4pro either).

I have a 1080p tv and thats fine for me atm.
