I'm pretty sure you are but, just in case you aren't, I  personally had to buy three PS2s because they were made of rice paper. My nephew was able to get one at launch and the fan didn't work so we couldn't even finish a round of Tekken before it shut off. He had to send it back for repairs.  It couldn't read half the movie DVDs until it got a driver update and even then, still had issues with DVD compatibility.

 

Anecdotal evidence aside, there was a class action lawsuit against the PS2 and Sony settled and paid. 

Go home your drink.  I was in college and at least 20 people in my dorm had it ...not..one...problem. SOLID AS A ROCK.
