Ok. Let me put it simple for you so you can understand:
My point was the video EXISTED but didn't get 9 million views because he DIDN'T HAVE A LARGE FOLLOWING. The defects were there, they are documented, there wasn't a video like the Switch's in terms of views because the guy who makes these as his main thing is Crowbcat and Crowbcat had essentially no subscribers, it was his second video, and didn't grab nearly the headlines then that he does now. Now he has hundreds of thousands. And social media spreads thigns far faster than even 2013 and early 2014.
The view count is a sign of how fast stuff spreads now and more than anything, the fact Crowbcat is far more known now.
Oh and 9 million views is not indicative of the number of defects, it's purely indicative of how popular Crowcat's vids of this nature are and how fast it was spread by the media.
The Sony brand and marketing deflected a lot of this. The Sony brand has deflected stuff like this for ages. For goodness sake there are people who legitimately think that the PS2 was more powerful than the GameCube to this very freaking day when the power gap was pronounced and documented. Sony has always been a powerful brand. The PS4 was the new hotness, the Xbone was a laughing stock, and the Switch is following up the Wii U, which was a flop. People are much more apt to look for defects, to search it on YouTube, etc than they ever were to do so for the PS4. And media is more on alert for a potential failure with the Switch than they were for the PS4.
The reality is that every single console of recent memory going all the way back to the PS2 (or earlier, I would have to research though) has had defective units at launch. It's a result of the initial stress that manufacturing and shipment pipelines are under during the initial rush to get the product to market and smooth out over time. And no ammount of your condscending handwaving, arrogant dismissal, or ad homminem attacks on the messengers will change that reality.
But by all means, ignore all this. Ignore reality and substitute your own version of the past that helps shore up the justification in your mind for your vitriolic brand loyalty if that makes you sleep better at night. I personally have better things to do than waste time depating with the kind of person who insults those who dare speak a word against his favorite corporate product, who has his fingers jammed firmly in his ears with regards to docummented facts.
