I get the socialist sentiment, i don't agree with it but on the surface it's a noble cause.

 

But how do you expect the world to embrace it when the majority of people want nothing to do with it? authoritarianism seems like the only way to implement it.

Unless of course you want a peaceful transition.

Of course the majority of people want nothing to do with it, that's what happens when centuries of propaganda by  the elite tell their rcitizens that it's a bad thing. The only way that it could work is with a worldwide revolution, because if it isn't it's either going to be attacked and defeated by hostile enemies, or it's going to become authoritarian and repressive as a way to maintain power.
