How does one react in face of a suicide? Is there anything noteworthy to look out for, to prevent it? Can it be prevented, if you suspect it?

 

14-15 just seems so young to give up hope on the rest of your life...

There are certainly warning signs.  Apathy, low energy, isolating behavior, but everybody is different.  The student I had certainly had all those signs.  He had a terrible home life and he had made attempts before.  He was in counseling and was being watched, but nobody can be vigilant 100% of the time and if somebody really wants to kill themself they will...
