His approval ratings are reflective of that fact that he's proving himself to be a liar and a shitty president who can't get things done. The fact that he still has some people approving of him is because they are the people who would vote republican no matter what. They are extremist republicans. Trump could literally spit in their faces and they'd vote for him...
He has to actually betray them on a core principal for him to lose those. So if he suddenly reversed himself on abortion or didn't build the wall, then we'd be talking.
