Not sure where you'd expect them to fit the 8,000 mAh. I'm sure there new battery tech out there that is more efficent than the one in the switch, but its probably not affordable yet.

Blurry picture there but I see a lot of black around that battery.  I suppose there are components from the board that are right underneath that black space?  Like some big ass capacitors or something.  To me it looks like you could wipe out almost all that black space and put a battery 2 times the size of that.
