Just don't buy new consoles.

I don't know why people do when there's no games, goofy firmware and unreliable hardware.

That being said, Sony is a pretty reliable bet, looking throughout history for a day 1 purchase.

The PS4 was just about as bare bones at launch as the Switch is now.  Remember when people were complaining about how the PS4 could not even do things that the PS3 could?  That said, it has come a long way.

I buy all consoles at launch for two reasons.  One is that there is NEVER a game coming that I want but cannot get.  The other is because there MUST be early adopters for 3rd party to even gauge wether or not they want to put their games on it.  If everyone had the mindset that you should never buy at launch, previous generations would have dragged on even longer as 3rd parties would be less motivated to produce exclusive software that takes advantage the new tech as there would be no one to buy said products.

I understand why you and others would rather wait, but trust me there is a good reason why us early adopters buy at launch regardless of the risk.
